The prices for domain names are rising.

 

This is the classic case of supply and demand.

Most new startups are strictly online which is driving the demand for quality brandable domain names.

Investors are willing to spend the money to protect their investments. There is also a greater understanding of how domain names impact the very foundation of a brand and marketing.

But at the same time, supply is limited because most domains are being used or not available for sale.

Demand is going up while supply is decreasing and limited.

It is very rare that a brand even has the opportunity to control their brand online in the simplest form that mirrors their branding.
